Basketball Recap: LBJ Austin Picks Up Sixth Straight Win on the Road

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but LBJ Austin had no problem doing just that on Monday. They were the clear victor by a 74-50 margin over the Fredericksburg Billies. The Jaguars have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 15 matches by 20 points or more this season.

LBJ Austin's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ja shawn Waters, who shot 58% from the field to rack up 20 points and three steals. Another player making a difference was Marquis Murry ii, who went 5-for-12 on his way to 14 points and five steals.

Fredericksburg's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Sterling White, who shot 50% from the field en route to 11 points in addition to eight boards and three blocks. What's more, White posted two steals, the most he's had since back in December of 2024. Brooks Immel also deserves some recognition as he posted his first block of the season.

LBJ Austin pushed their record up to 21-13 with the victory, which was their sixth straight on the road. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 88.8 points over those games. As for Fredericksburg, their defeat dropped their record down to 20-15.

LBJ Austin has already played their next game, a 48-39 win against Somerset on the 22nd. Fredericksburg does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
