Football Recap: Woods Cross Wildcats vs. Alta Hawks
After losing to Alta the last time they met, Woods Cross decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Wildcats were the clear victors by a 35-14 margin over the Hawks on Friday. With the Wildcats ahead 21-0 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.
Woods Cross' win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jesse Simmons, who threw for 221 yards and a pair of TDs on only ten passes, and also punched in one score on the ground. Simmons' passing game has become a key predictor of the Wildcats' success: the team is undefeated when his passer rating is 100 or higher, but only 1-2 otherwise.
