Basketball Recap: Waterloo Takes a Loss

Waterloo was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They came up short against the Okawville Rockets, falling 58-38. While losing is never fun, the Bulldogs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 239th, while the Rockets are ranked 104th).

Okawville got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Caroline Tepe out in front who went 7 for 13 en route to 15 points and six rebounds. The dominant performance gave Tepe a new career-high in points. Brynn Rhodes was another key player, putting up 15 points.

Waterloo's loss dropped their record down to 10-16. As for Okawville, they pushed their record up to 14-7 with the win, which was their third straight on the road.

Waterloo will venture away from home to square off against Columbia at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Columbia will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something Waterloo surely won't give up without a fight. As for Okawville, they will face off against Chester at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
