Basketball Recap: Woodmont Comes Up Short

Woodmont saw some tournament action on Friday. They received a blow as they fell 49-31 to the Elbert County Blue Devils. While losing is never fun, the Wildcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 103rd in South Carolina, while the Blue Devils are ranked 15th in Georgia).

Woodmont now has a losing record at 5-6. As for Elbert County, the win keeps them at an undefeated 13-0.

Woodmont will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Greenville at 6:00 p.m. on January 8, 2025. Elbert County will also get a bit of a break before their next matchup: they'll face off against Oglethorpe County at 6:00 p.m. on January 7, 2025.
