Wes-Del's game on Monday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Thursday. They blew past the Cowan Blackhawks 14-8. The Warriors might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine matches by six runs or more this season.
Bailee West made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out eight batters over seven innings while giving up five earned (and three unearned) runs off seven hits. West was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 5-for-5 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. Those five RBI gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Keylie Byrd, who got on base in three of her five plate appearances with one home run, three runs, and two RBI. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April. Wes-Del kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Cowan only managed nine hits.
