Preview: Sublette Larks vs. Southwestern Heights Mustangs
After three games on the road, Sublette is heading back home. They will take on the Southwestern Heights Mustangs at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Given that the pair suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.
Last Saturday, Sublette was just a bucket shy of victory and fell 34-33 to Deerfield.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Talyna Guenter, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 15 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points she has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Aneya Puentes, who scored 15 points.
Meanwhile, Southwestern Heights came up short against Stanton County on Saturday and fell 39-31. Southwestern Heights has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Sublette's loss was their 14th straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 0-12. As for Southwestern Heights, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-5.
Things could have been worse for Sublette, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 40-23 loss to Southwestern Heights when the teams last played back in February of 2023. Can Sublette avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
