Basketball Game Preview: Randolph-Macon Academy Yellow Jackets vs. Veritas School Lions

Having just played yesterday, the Randolph-Macon Academy Yellow Jackets will get right back to it and host the Veritas School Lions at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The timing is sure in Randolph-Macon Academy's favor as the squad sits on eight straight wins at home (dating back to last season) while Veritas School has been banged up by seven consecutive losses on the road also dating back to last season.

It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 75-40, which was the final score in Randolph-Macon Academy's tilt against Washington on Monday. The matchup marked the Yellow Jackets' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Veritas School). They simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat The New Community School 80-27. The team's explosion on offense also rewarded the Lions with their most commanding win of the season.

Randolph-Macon Academy better keep an eye on Liam Cruess. He was instrumental in Veritas School's win, putting up 19 points. London Smith was another key player, scoring 12 points.

Veritas School was working as a unit and finished the game with 24 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Veritas School's win bumped their record up to 4-6. As for Randolph-Macon Academy, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 10-1.

Randolph-Macon Academy beat Veritas School 68-61 in their previous matchup back in February of 2024. Will Randolph-Macon Academy repeat their success, or does Veritas School have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
