Basketball Game Preview: Colleyville Heritage Panthers vs. Ryan Raiders

The Colleyville Heritage Panthers will take on the Ryan Raiders at 1:00 p.m. on Friday. Ryan took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Colleyville Heritage, who comes in off a win.

Having struggled with three losses in a row, Colleyville Heritage turned things around against Denton last Friday. They came out on top against the Broncos by a score of 45-38.

Samari Stevenson was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 19 points and 13 boards. That makes it four consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Colleyville Heritage's points. Eliza Hutson was another key player, putting up 11 points.

Ryan has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They were five points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 57-52 heartbreaker at the hands of Amarillo. While losing is never fun, the Raiders can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 42nd, while the Sandies are ranked sixth).

Ryan's defeat dropped their record down to 18-6. As for Colleyville Heritage, their victory was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 4-13.
