Cumby had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 33 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They really took it to the Detroit Eagles for the full four quarters, racking up a 50-16 victory. The Trojans pushed the score to 44-8 by the end of the third, a deficit the Eagles cut but never quite recovered from.

Cumby's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Chayton Vaughan, who rushed for 130 yards on only five carries, and also picked up 60 receiving yards. Channing Herman was another key player, throwing for 71 yards and a pair of touchdowns.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Cumby was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 404 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 163 rushing yards every time they've taken the field this season.

The victory got Cumby back to even at 3-3. As for Detroit, they dropped their record down to 2-4 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season.
