Basketball Recap: Fairmont Comes Up Short

Fairmont was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were a single point away from ending the streak, but they lost a 56-55 heartbreaker at the hands of the Luverne Cardinals. Fairmont was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Luverne apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in March of 2024.

Fairmont's defeat dropped their record down to 10-7. As for Luverne, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 10-7.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Fairmont will host Blue Earth at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Luverne, they will challenge Southwest Minnesota Christian at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
