Softball Game Preview: Lake Oswego Lakers vs. Tigard Tigers

Lake Oswego hasn't had much luck against Tigard recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Lakers will host the Tigers at 6:00 p.m. Lake Oswego is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7 runs per game this season.

Last Friday, Lake Oswego came up short against McMinnville and fell 7-3. The Lakers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Macy Maxwell was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.

Meanwhile, Tigard started off well but failed to capitalize on an early lead against Sunset. They fell just short of the Apollos by a score of 5-4 on Friday. That's two games in a row now that the Tigers have lost by just one run.

Lake Oswego's defeat dropped their record down to 6-4. As for Tigard, their loss dropped their record down to 4-7.

Lake Oswego was able to grind out a solid victory over Tigard in their previous meeting back in May of 2024, winning 7-4. Will the Lakers repeat their success, or do the Tigers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
