Basketball Game Preview: Wayne Blue Devils vs. Cedar Catholic Trojans

Wayne and Cedar Catholic are an even 5-5 against one another since December of 2020, but not for long. The Wayne Blue Devils will host the Cedar Catholic Trojans on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Wayne took a loss when they played away from home on Saturday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They came out on top against Crofton by a score of 58-46. Given the Blue Devils' advantage in MaxPreps' Nebraska basketball rankings (they are ranked 18th, while the Warriors are ranked 230th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Cedar Catholic waltzed into their match on Tuesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They secured a 62-58 W over the Cardinals.

Cedar Catholic has also been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 10-4 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.6 points per game. As for Wayne, they pushed their record up to 14-2 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home.
