Softball Preview: South Bison vs. East Thunderbirds
South is 0-7 against East since April of 2021 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The South Bison are on the road again to play the East Thunderbirds at 4:00 p.m.
South is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Wyoming's top teams: Wheatland, who was ranked sixth in their home state at the time (South was ranked 12th). South lost 11-1 to Wheatland on April 12th.
Meanwhile, East put the finishing touches on their tenth blowout victory of the season on Friday. They put the hurt on Central with a sharp 15-6 win.
Rylee Stephenson made a splash no matter where she played. She struck out seven batters over five innings while giving up just two earned runs off six hits (and only one walk). Stephenson was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 3-for-4.
In other batting news, Aleah Brooks was incredible, going 3-for-5 with a home run, four RBI, and two runs. Another player making a difference was McKenzie Millar, who scored three runs while going 2-for-3.
South's defeat dropped their record down to 0-8. As for East, their victory was their eighth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-4.
