Baseball Recap: Rhea County Takes a Loss

It was a Battle of the Birds when Rhea County challenged Ooltewah on Monday. The Golden Eagles fell just short of the Owls by a score of 9-8. The Golden Eagles were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Owls earlier this season, when they won 6-2.

The loss snapped Rhea County's winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 9-18 record. As for Ooltewah, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-10-1 record this season.

Rhea County will venture away from home to challenge Cleveland at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Blue Raiders will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something the Golden Eagles surely won't give up without a fight. As for Ooltewah, they will host Howard Tech at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
