Basketball Recap: McDaniel Takes a Loss

McDaniel lost against Benson Tech back in February of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The McDaniel Mountain Lions fell 71-59 to the Benson Tech Astros.

McDaniel has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-5 record this season. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.5 points per game. As for Benson Tech, they moved to 5-3 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak.

McDaniel will head out on the road to challenge Glencoe at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Benson Tech, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Ida B. Wells at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Benson Tech knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past eight contests -- so hopefully Ida B. Wells likes a good challenge.
