Basketball Game Preview: Roland Park Country Reds vs. St. Mary's Saints

The Roland Park Country Reds will square off against the St. Mary's Saints at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Given that both suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

On Wednesday, Roland Park Country was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 57-51 to McDonogh.

Meanwhile, after soaring to 73 points the game before, St. Mary's was a bit more limited in their game on Wednesday. They came up short against Archbishop Spalding, falling 45-24. The match marked the Saints' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Roland Park Country will need focus on slowing down Alexandra Vandiver, one of several St. Mary's players who made an impact when they last played. She posted five points and five boards. Maddie Murray also deserves some recognition as she grabbed her first steal of the season.

St. Mary's dropped their record down to 8-9 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for Roland Park Country, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-9 record this season.
