Douglas had won nine straight games and Scarlette Ruiz did her part to make it ten on Saturday. The Douglas Bulldogs walked away with a 47-37 victory over the Flowing Wells Caballeros thanks in part to Ruiz, who went 6 of 11 on her way to 15 points along with five boards and three steals. The contest was her fourth in a row with at least ten points.

The team also got some help courtesy of Francia Rubio, who posted three points in addition to eight rebounds and five assists. She is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last six games she's played.

Flowing Wells lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Nevaeh Urenda, who put up 13 points along with eight boards and six assists. That was a full 35.1% of Flowing Wells' points, marking the third time in a row she's had more than a third of the team's points. Adonia Mendez was another key player, putting up nine points and seven rebounds.

Douglas pushed their record up to 13-1 with the win, which was their eighth straight at home. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 39.1 points. As for Flowing Wells, they moved to 12-3 with that loss, which also ended their eight-game winning streak.

Douglas didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 60-45 defeat against Sunnyside on the 28th. As for Flowing Wells, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 64-62 loss against Pueblo on the 28th.
