Softball Game Preview: Eastlake Wolves vs. Juanita Ravens

The Eastlake Wolves will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against the Juanita Ravens at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

Eastlake will bounce into Wednesday's game after beating Bothell, who they had gone 2-7 against in their nine prior meetings. Everything went Eastlake's way against Bothell on Monday as Eastlake made off with a 12-3 victory. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Wolves considering their one-run performance the contest before.

Addi Baumgartner spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and two unearned) runs on six hits and racked up nine Ks. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in March of 2024.

At the plate, Heather Lloyd was incredible, going 3-for-4 with two triples, three runs, and four RBI. Elle Dill was another key player, scoring three runs while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.

Meanwhile, while Juanita put up plenty of runs on Monday, the same can't be said for Meadowdale. Juanita blew past Meadowdale 12-0. The high-scoring effort was just what the Ravens needed considering they were shut out in their previous matchup.

Bella Hauck was a standout: she scored two runs while going 3-for-4. Another player making a difference was Anna Hauck, who went 2-for-3 with one triple and two RBI.

Juanita always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .636. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Meadowdale only posted an OBP of .158.

The win got Eastlake back to even at 1-1. As for Juanita, the victory also got them back to even at 1-1.

Eastlake took their win against Juanita in their previous matchup back in June of 2021 by a conclusive 10-0. Does Eastlake have another victory up their sleeve, or will Juanita turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
