Baseball Game Preview: Smithtown West vs. West Babylon Eagles

For the second straight game, Smithtown West will face off against West Babylon. Smithtown West is taking a road trip to challenge West Babylon at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The last three games Smithtown West has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

Smithtown West fell victim to West Babylon and their airtight pitching crew on Wednesday. They fell just short of the Eagles by a score of 2-0. Smithtown West's defeat signaled the end of their five-game winning streak.

For West Babylon's part, the result came thanks to Matt Critchly's shutout, as he gave up just a hit.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Elijah Outlaw, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run. The team also got some help courtesy of Steve Gervasi, who earned one run and two stolen bases.

West Babylon's victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 9-6. As for Smithtown West, their loss dropped their record down to 10-2.
