Basketball Recap: Pearl Takes a Loss

Pearl was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a blow against the Meridian Wildcats, falling 74-34. While losing is never fun, the Pirates can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Mississippi basketball rankings (they are ranked 202nd, while the Wildcats are ranked 32nd).

Pearl's defeat dropped their record down to 5-13. As for Meridian, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 15-9 record this season.

Pearl will challenge Oak Grove at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Meridian does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
