Football Recap: Fairview Skates Past Smoky Hill with Ease + How To Watch

Fairview won the last time they faced Smoky Hill and things went their way on Friday too. The Knights simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Buffaloes 47-0. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Knights' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Colorado football rankings (they are ranked 15th, while the Buffaloes are ranked 76th).

It was another big night for Ki Ellison, who threw for 291 yards and four touchdowns while completing 78.6% of his passes, and also punched in one score on the ground. That's the most passing yards he has posted since back in November of 2024. Sabi Ruttgers was in the mix too, providing Fairview with two TDs.

Fairview didn't let much get past them through the air: they limited Smoky Hill to a completion percentage of just 50%. That dominant aerial defense primarily came from two players: Ruttgers and Toray Davis, who each logged two passes deflected. Fairview hasn't an opponent to post a completion percentage of 0.63 or higher in three consecutive matchups.

Fairview pushed their record up to 4-1 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 2.3 points on average over those games. As for Smoky Hill, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-3.

Fairview has already played their next game, a 56-0 victory against Prairie View on the 3rd. As for Smoky Hill, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 48-7 loss against Eaglecrest on the 3rd.
