Basketball Recap: Clearbrook-Gonvick Comes Up Short

Clearbrook-Gonvick was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They were beaten by the Kittson Central Bearcats 79-52. The Bears lost against the Bearcats in their previous head to head back in February of 2022, too, but the margin this time around was even wider than the 45-44 score last time.

Clearbrook-Gonvick's defeat dropped their record down to 9-9. As for Kittson Central, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 14-6.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Clearbrook-Gonvick will face off against Sacred Heart at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Sacred Heart's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last eight matches. As for Kittson Central, they will challenge Warroad at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Warroad knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past 22 games -- so hopefully Kittson Central likes a good challenge.
