Basketball Recap: Victoria West Finds Home Court Redemption Against Lamar Consolidated

There's no place like home for Victoria West, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They walked away with a 54-46 victory over the Lamar Consolidated Mustangs on Tuesday. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 46-37 back in January.

Despite the defeat, Lamar Consolidated saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Edgar Garcia went 10 for 18 on his way to 24 points and three steals. Those three steals gave Garcia a new career-high. Cedric Jones was another key player, putting up six points and eight boards.

Victoria West's win bumped their record up to 12-16. As for Lamar Consolidated, they dropped their record down to 7-18 with the loss, which was their sixth straight on the road.

Victoria West has already played their next matchup (against Fort Bend Kempner), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Lamar Consolidated will challenge Terry at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Lamar Consolidated is facing Terry at the right time seeing as Terry is stuck on a 29-game losing streak.
