Recap: Cedar Ridge Raiders vs. Cornerstone Christian Warriors
The Cedar Ridge Raiders waltzed into their game Friday with five straight wins but they left with six. They came out on top against Cornerstone Christian by a score of 55-46.
Cornerstone Christian's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kiana Henning, who scored 18 points along with nine rebounds and seven steals. Another player making a difference was Yasmeen Schmidt, who scored 15 points along with six rebounds.
Cedar Ridge is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matches, which provided a massive bump to their 13-6 record this season. As for Cornerstone Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 20-8.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Cedar Ridge will take on Stony Point at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Stony Point will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings (they are ranked 259th, while Cedar Ridge is ranked 100th). As for Cornerstone Christian, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Richland Springs at 6:30 p.m. Richland Springs is looking to tack on another W to their eight-game streak on the road.
