Basketball Recap: Central Texas Christian Lions vs. Holy Trinity Catholic Celtics

The Central Texas Christian Lions scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Saturday. They breezed by Holy Trinity Catholic at home to the tune of 67-11. The victory was a breath of fresh air for Central Texas Christian as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Central Texas Christian had a senior duo take command as Abby Burt scored 11 points along with eight steals and six assists and Millie Caldwell scored 13 points along with five rebounds. Burt has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last 11 times she's played. Another player making a difference was Hannah Franklin, who scored eight points along with two steals.

Central Texas Christian's victory ended a five-game drought at home and bumped them up to 8-17. As for Holy Trinity Catholic, their defeat was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-12.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Central Texas Christian will take on the Falcons at 7:00 a.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Live Oak Classical focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 25 on Saturday. As for Holy Trinity Catholic, they will be playing in front of their home fans against the Cougars at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
