Grand Traverse Academy won the last time they faced Forest Area, and Weston Kinney did his part to make sure it happened again. The Grand Traverse Academy Mustangs came out on top against the Forest Area Warriors by a score of 36-29 on Thursday thanks in part to Kinney, who dropped a double-double with ten points and 13 boards. What's more, he posted three blocks, the most he's had since back in December of 2024.

Charlie Dennis was another key player, putting up seven points and four steals. He has become a key player for Grand Traverse Academy: the team is undefeated when he posts at least three steals, but 7-9 otherwise.

Grand Traverse Academy is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-9 record this season. A key ingredient in that success has been their performance when it comes to offensive boards: they averaged an imposing 12.38 offensive rebounds in those games compared to only 5.82 in the others. Forest Area is on a ten-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-17.

Grand Traverse Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Forest Area, they will square off against Central Lake at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
