Volleyball Game Preview: Whetstone Braves vs. Briggs Bruins

The Whetstone Braves will head out to challenge the Briggs Bruins at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Whetstone will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.

For some reason, the away team has come away with the win the last four times Whetstone and Linden-McKinley have met, but the home crowd finally got their W last Thursday. The Braves were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Panthers.

Meanwhile, Briggs entered their matchup against Central Crossing on Wednesday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Bruins came up short against the Comets, falling 3-0. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Bruins have suffered since September 6th.

Briggs was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the third set very close. The match finished with set scores of 25-21, 25-14, 25-23.

Whetstone's victory bumped their record up to 16-4. As for Briggs, their loss dropped their record down to 15-4.

Whetstone suffered a grim 3-0 defeat to Briggs in their previous matchup back in October of 2024. Can the Braves avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
