Basketball Recap: Carter G. Woodson Comes Up Short

Carter G. Woodson was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They fell 80-69 to the Greater Vision Academy Lions. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Eagle this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 49-45 back in December of 2024.

Leading Greater Vision Academy to victory were Josiah Love and Ramael Warren. Love went 13 for 20 en route to 36 points, while Warren dropped a double-double on 27 points and ten boards. The matchup was Love's seventh in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Amari King, who posted nine points and seven rebounds.

Carter G. Woodson's defeat dropped their record down to 4-6. As for Greater Vision Academy, their win bumped their record up to 4-7.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Carter G. Woodson and Bonnie Cone Leadership Academy will face off at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday without much rest having both just played. As for Greater Vision Academy, they will face off against Combine Academy Varsity at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
