Football Recap: Lumberton Pirates vs. Fairmont Golden Tornadoes
Lumberton gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Fairmont Golden Tornadoes 35-0 at home. The matchup was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point the Pirates had established a 29 point advantage.
On the defensive side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Lumberton's defense and their 5.5 sacks. In that department, Brandon Reagan was the leader with two.
Lumberton will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Clinton at 7:00 p.m. on September 6th. As for Fairmont, they will take on Purnell Swett at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
