Baseball Game Preview: Pacelli Cardinals vs. Gibraltar/Washington Island Vikings

The Pacelli Cardinals will square off against the Gibraltar/Washington Island Vikings on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Pacelli 3.1, Gibraltar/Washington Island 2.1) so any runs scored will be well earned.

Pacelli is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Wednesday. They put the hurt on Tigerton with a sharp 8-1 win. The result was nothing new for the Cardinals, who have now won 14 matchups by seven runs or more so far this season.

Meanwhile, Gibraltar/Washington Island entered their tilt with Iola-Scandinavia on Wednesday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They came out on top against the Thunderbirds by a score of 4-1.

The victory (which was Pacelli's fourth in a row) raised their record to 21-4. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Gibraltar/Washington Island, their victory bumped their record up to 6-1.

Everything went Pacelli's way against Gibraltar/Washington Island in their previous matchup back in June of 2024, as Pacelli made off with a 7-1 win. Will the Cardinals repeat their success, or do the Vikings have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
