Volleyball Recap: Cascade Starts Season with Loss on the Road

Cascade had to hit the road for their first game and it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They fell just short of the Indian Creek Braves by a score of 3-2 on Saturday. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Cascade started the match hot and won the first two sets, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 20-25, 17-25, 25-12, 25-18, 17-15.

Cascade's loss came despite strong showings from Lacie Godby and Suzy Moore. Godby had 15 digs and two aces, while Moore had ten digs and three aces. Godby is also on a roll when it comes to assists, as she's now posted 14 or more in each of the last nine games she's played dating back to last season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Cascade will challenge Plainfield at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Indian Creek, they are headed away from home for the first time to challenge Waldron at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
