Basketball Recap: Warsaw Comes Up Short

Warsaw was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They lost to the Holden Eagles on the road by a 51-34 margin. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Wildcats came into the contest with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 260th, while the Eagles are ranked 530th).

When it comes to explaining why Warsaw lost, don't look at Shane Poyser. Despite the final result, he went 5 of 9 on his way to 12 points and six boards. Another player making a difference was Noah Siebert, who posted five points and eight rebounds.

Warsaw's defeat dropped their record down to 12-9. As for Holden, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-14.

Looking ahead, Warsaw will square off against Chilhowee at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Holden, they won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Richmond at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
