Softball Game Preview: Faith Christian Academy Lions vs. Bristol Warriors

Faith Christian Academy has won three straight games at home, while Bristol has won three straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Monday. The Lions will host the Warriors at 4:00 p.m. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Faith Christian Academy is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They were the clear victors by a 17-2 margin over Collegium Charter on Friday. Considering the Lions have won six matchups by more than eight runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

For some reason, the away team has come away with the win the last four times Bristol and MAST Community Charter have met, but the home crowd finally got their W on Friday. The Warriors won by a run and slipped past the Panthers 3-2.

Brianna Slack spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on six hits and racked up 13 Ks. She has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in eight consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Bristol let Amirah Bell and Peyton McClain run wild. Bell went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run, while McClain went a perfect 4-for-4 with one run and one RBI. Those four hits gave McClain a new career-high.

Faith Christian Academy has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 7-5 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.0 runs over those games. As for Bristol, their victory bumped their record up to 11-1.

Faith Christian Academy might still be hurting after the 28-2 defeat they got from Bristol when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Can the Lions avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
