Baseball Recap: Salem Comes Up Short

After flying high against Mountain View last Thursday, Salem came back down to earth. The Greyhounds fell just short of the Izard County Cougars by a score of 6-5 on Friday. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Cougars this season, with their most recent loss being a 11-2 defeat two weeks ago.

James Crowe made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and two RBI. Kaiden Hollis was another key player, scoring two runs while going 1-for-3.

Salem dropped their record down to 7-11 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight at home. As for Izard County, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-2 record this season.

Salem didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 16-5 win against Bergman on the 14th. As for Izard County, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 14-0 loss against Cedar Ridge on the 14th.
