Baseball Game Preview: Colonial Heights Colonials vs. Matoaca Warriors

After both having extra time off, the Colonial Heights Colonials and the Matoaca Warriors will shake off the cobwebs and hit the field against one another at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Colonial Heights' favor is that they have posted at least ten runs every time they've taken the field this season.

If Colonial Heights beats Matoaca with 14 runs on Tuesday, it's going to be the squad's new lucky number: they've won their past two games with that exact score. The Colonials blew past Meadowbrook 14-0 last Thursday. Fans of the Colonials have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 6+ runs.

Meanwhile, Matoaca was able to grind out a solid win over Dinwiddie last Thursday, taking the game 5-2. The Warriors haven't had any issues with the Generals recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.

Matoaca's win was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 2-3. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Colonial Heights, their win bumped their record up to 4-0.
