Rushville hasn't had much luck against Connersville recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Lions will take on the Spartans at 5:30 p.m. Rushville has given up an average of 11 runs per game this season, but Monday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

It was a proper cat-fight when Rushville duked it out with Lawrenceburg on Saturday. The Lions lost 11-1 to the Tigers. Having soared to a lofty ten runs in the game before, the Lions couldn't push the score so high this time.

Rushville saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kyleigh Glandon, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one stolen base.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Connersville). They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past Franklin County 10-8.

Jade Green was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run over five innings pitched. She has been consistent : she hasn't given up more than one walk any time she's pitched this season. She was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while going 2-for-4. That's the most hits she has posted since back in May of 2024.

In other batting news, Josey Selby was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and two RBI. Those three hits gave her a new career-high. Carmen Ruble was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-5.

Connersville was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .472. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Monday's matchup will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Rushville hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .385. However, it's not like Connersville struggles in that department as they've averaged .349. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
