Baseball Recap: Atlantic Collegiate Academy Takes a Loss

If Atlantic Collegiate Academy was feeling good fresh off their 16-1 takedown of Bourbon County last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Armada fell just short of the East Clarendon Wolverines by a score of 4-3 on Monday.

Andrew Larsen was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he struck out eight batters over five innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off five hits (and only one walk). That's the fewest hits he has allowed since back in April of 2024.

At the plate, Zach Spencer made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one triple, one stolen base, and one RBI. Justin Sheffield was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.

Atlantic Collegiate Academy's defeat was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 5-3. As for East Clarendon, they pushed their record up to 13-4 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road.

While Atlantic Collegiate Academy had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
