Football Recap: North Buncombe Black Hawks vs. Brevard Blue Devils
If North Buncombe was feeling good fresh off their 42-19 takedown of Madison last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Black Hawks had to suffer through a 41-14 loss at the hands of the Brevard Blue Devils. While losing is never fun, the Black Hawks can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina football rankings (they are ranked 324th, while the Blue Devils are ranked 50th).
Although North Buncombe took the loss, they still got scores from Ryan Moffatt and Kyngston Denson.
Brevard's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Chrstian Conley led the charge by throwing for 131 yards and two touchdowns on only eight passes, while also punching in one TD on the ground. Another pass catcher making a difference was Tristan Thompson-Wynn, who picked up 149 receiving yards and one score.
North Buncombe's loss dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Brevard, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-0.
