Recap: Dunnellon Tigers vs. Crystal River Pirates
The Dunnellon Tigers scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Monday. They enjoyed a cozy 75-60 victory over Crystal River. Dunnellon pushed the score to 58-36 by the end of the third, a deficit Crystal River cut but never quite recovered from.
Eli Nelson was his usual excellent self, scoring 17 points along with seven rebounds. Another player making a difference was Chris Henry, who scored eight points along with three steals.
Despite the loss, Crystal River still got an impressive performance from Zachary Hamilton, who scored 21 points along with five assists and five rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Hamilton has scored all season. Ej Jenkins was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 13 points and ten rebounds.
Dunnellon has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 10-8 record this season. As for Crystal River, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-11.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Dunnellon won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Trinity Catholic at 7:00 p.m. on January 23rd. As for Crystal River, they will head out on the road to square off against Hudson at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
