Softball Game Preview: Edgerton Bulldogs vs. Holgate Tigers

The Edgerton Bulldogs will head out on the road to face off against the Holgate Tigers at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Edgerton has seven straight wins, Holgate has four straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Edgerton's pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. They came out on top against Wayne Trace by a score of 4-0.

Meanwhile, Holgate came up short against Edon on Thursday, falling 25-4.

Markee Wilhelm was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-2 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played. Penelope Aguilar also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.

Edgerton's victory bumped their record up to 14-3. As for Holgate, their loss dropped their record down to 1-11.

Edgerton took their win against Holgate in their previous matchup back in April of 2022 by a conclusive 13-3 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Bulldogs since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
