Soccer Recap: Ironwood Ridge Comes Up Short

After flying high against Amphitheater last Friday, Ironwood Ridge came back down to earth. The Ironwood Ridge Nighthawks came up short against the Walden Grove Red Wolves on Wednesday, falling 5-0. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Nighthawks of the 2-1 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in December of 2022.

Ironwood Ridge's loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 7-4. As for Walden Grove, their win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-1.

Ironwood Ridge didn't take long to hit the pitch again: they've already played their next game, a 4-0 victory against Sahuaro on the 27th. Walden Grove has also already played their next matchup, a 0-0 draw against Salpointe Catholic on the 27th.
