Myrtle had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They came out on top against the Baldwyn Bearcats by a score of 12-8 on Monday. 12 seems to be a good number for the Hawks as the team scooped up a win with the same number of runs in their previous game.

Myrtle got a great performance from JJ Hall as he struck out six batters over 4.2 innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off six hits.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Drew Stanton, who went 2-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and one stolen base. Another player making a difference was Ray Moody, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI and one run.

Myrtle kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in March.

Myrtle has been performing well recently as they've won 11 of their last 13 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 23-8 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.5 runs on average over those games. As for Baldwyn, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 20-11-1.

Myrtle will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Bearcats: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled on Friday.
