Volleyball Recap: George Washington Comes Up Short

George Washington lost against Thomas Jefferson back in September of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Patriots came up short against the Spartans, falling 3-0. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Patriots have suffered since September 17th.

While George Washington was kept off the board, it wasn't for a lack of trying: they cut into Thomas Jefferson's winning margin in every set. The final score came out to 25-10, 25-18, 25-22.

Thomas Jefferson can attribute much of their success to Anisa Adrovic, who had nine digs and six assists. That's the most assists Adrovic has posted since back in August. Peyton Fetter also deserves some recognition as she had her first kill of the season.

The loss snapped George Washington's winning streak at three matches and leaves them with a 10-10 record. As for Thomas Jefferson, the victory was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record up to 12-4.

Coming up, after both having extra time off, George Washington and Hinkley will shake off the rust and duke it out at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Thomas Jefferson, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Denver East at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
