Football Game Preview: Brookhaven Academy Cougars vs. Simpson Academy Cougars

Brookhaven Academy will square off against Simpson Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

For some reason, the away team has come away with the win the last four times Brookhaven Academy and Centreville Academy have met, but the home crowd finally got their W on Friday. The Cougars took a blow against the Tigers, falling 46-13. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Cougars have suffered against the Tigers since September 29, 2017.

Meanwhile, Simpson Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They lost 35-12 to Madison-Ridgeland Academy. The Cougars were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 35-0.

Simpson Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 3-7. As for Brookhaven Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 6-4.

Brookhaven Academy didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Simpson Academy when the teams last played back in October, but they still walked away with a 38-34 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Brookhaven Academy since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
