Volleyball Recap: Ansley Pardue Leads a Balanced Effort to Beat Brighton

Houston won the last time they faced Brighton and things went their way on Wednesday too. The Mustangs blew past the Cardinals 3-0. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Mustangs.

While Houston won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the first set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-23, 25-9, 25-21.

Houston's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Ansley Pardue, who had eight digs and four aces. That's the most aces Pardue has posted over her last five matchups. The team also got some help courtesy of Lindsey Baker, who had eight digs and two assists.

Houston's win bumped their record up to 17-11. As for Brighton, their defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 11-7.

Houston didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-1 victory against Decatur on the 19th. As for Brighton, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 3-0 win against Covington on the 18th.
