Myrtle typically has all the answers at home, but on Tuesday North Pontotoc proved too difficult a challenge. They walked away with a 10-7 win over the Hawks. The victory was familiar territory for the Vikings, who have now won six games in a row.
Lacie Simmons was a standout: she scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-3. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last six games she's played. Sadie Rhea was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three RBI and one triple.
North Pontotoc hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their strikeout total in three consecutive contests.
