League recap: Schlange breaks off league-leading run for Platteview

B District 2 recap October 1, 2013

Platteview's Noah Schlange rumbled for the longest rushing play in B District 2 this season in his game against Schuyler last week. Schlange scampered for 77 yards on the play and finished with 225 on the day as his team bested the Warriors.

Nebraska City moved up to 93 from 120 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Pioneers climbed the ranks as a result of defeating Mount Michael Benedictine 27-20.

Schlange was a passing and rushing force as Platteview beat Schuyler. Schlange's key target this week was Seth Starks, who caught 2 passes for 25 yards.

Schlange was a force in the backfield as Adam Kuhl's team topped Casey Winings' team.

Cj Neuman was the best receiver in the league this week as Plattsmouth fell to Elkhorn South. Neuman tallied 3 receptions for 80 yards. Nolan Siemonsma helped Plattsmouth's passing attack out by catching 3 balls for 89 yards.

Plattsmouth's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Blue Devils feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Connor Dukes has thrown for 551 yards and 4 touchdowns this season, while Hunter Hermida has 9 catches for 182 yards.

Waverly lost to Gross Catholic 41-7 last week, the largest margin of any game. Zack Petersen was a bright spot for the Vikings, as he threw for 28 yards and ran for 19 yards in the defeat.
