Baseball Preview: Loretto Mustangs vs. Lewis County Panthers

Loretto is 9-1 against Lewis County since April of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Mustangs will square off against the Panthers at 7:00 p.m. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.

On Thursday, Loretto needed a bit of extra time to put away Richland. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 victory over the Raiders. The win was familiar territory for the Mustangs, who have now won three matchups in a row.

Casen Springer was excellent, going 3-for-4 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run. He is becoming a predictor of Loretto's success: when he posts at least three hits the team is 3-1 (and 8-13 when he doesn't). Jayden Aaron was another key player, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with one double.
