Westlake is a perfect 10-0 against Del Valle since March of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Chaparrals will be playing in front of their home fans against the Cardinals at 7:00 p.m. Westlake's pitching crew has only allowed 3.7 runs per game this season, so Del Valle's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Westlake took a six-run defeat the last time they faced off against Lake Travis, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Chaparrals came out on top in a nail-biter against the Cavaliers on Friday, sneaking past 5-3.

Meanwhile, Del Valle can bid farewell to their seven-game losing streak thanks to their game on Saturday. They walked away with a 7-3 victory over Pflugerville.

BRANDON MARTINEZ made a splash while hitting and pitching. He pitched 1.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Del Valle is 3-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 2-13-1 otherwise. MARTINEZ was even better at the plate, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 2-for-3. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in March.

In other pitching news, Del Valle got a great performance from JAVIER RODRIGUEZ as he didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched.

MARTINEZ wasn't the only one making solid contact as six players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was ANDRU ROGRIGUEZ, who scored a run while going 2-for-3. That's the most hits ROGRIGUEZ has posted since back in February. JORDAN GARCIA also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.

Del Valle was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .385. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Del Valle's win bumped their record up to 5-14-1. As for Westlake, their victory bumped their record up to 21-4-1.

Westlake took their win against Del Valle in their previous meeting back in March of 2024 by a conclusive 11-0 score. Do the Chaparrals have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Cardinals turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
