Softball Recap: Williams Field Victorious

Williams Field was handed a eight-run defeat in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Tuesday. They skirted past the Higley Knights 9-8. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Black Hawks have posted against the Knights since April 8, 2022.

Jyllian Skoda and Sydney Carnes did most of the damage at the plate: Skoda went 1-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI, while Carnes went 2-for-3 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. That's the most hits Carnes has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Lauren Petranek, who went 3-for-4 with two runs.

Williams Field's win was their first in the region, bumping their region record up to 1-8 and their overall record up to 9-14-1. As for Higley, their loss dropped their record down to 9-19-1.
